Strategic Engagement Fellow
Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Rural Philanthropy Fellowship
Full-time • Two-Year Fellowship • Begins January 2026
The Community Foundation of Monroe County (CFMC) is excited to host a new Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Rural Philanthropy Fellow, part of a statewide cohort of professionals working to strengthen philanthropy in Michigan’s rural communities.
This two-year fellowship is a rare opportunity to learn, lead, and make a lasting local impact while being part of a group of peers across Michigan and New York who are building the future of community philanthropy together. Based in Monroe, Michigan, the Fellow will spend a great deal of time traveling throughout the county—meeting residents where they live and work, listening to their stories, and helping transform community priorities into meaningful action. Fellows benefit from hands-on experience in place-based philanthropy, a personalized professional-development budget, and ongoing learning and mentorship through the Rural Philanthropy Fellows Cohort. The Fellow will join a highly dedicated Foundation team.

Affiliate Director – Greater Milan Area Community Fund (GMACF)
The Greater Milan Area Community Fund (GMACF), a geographic affiliate of the Community Foundation of Monroe County (CFMC), is seeking an experienced and community-driven leader to serve as Affiliate Director.
Based in Milan, this part-time position (approximately 30 hours per week) provides strategic and operational leadership to strengthen philanthropy, community engagement, and local impact across the Greater Milan region.
The Affiliate Director serves as the chief advocate, connector, and strategist for the GMACF Fund Advisory Committee—helping bring people and resources together to advance community priorities, foster collaboration, and build long-term charitable assets for the region.
The role focuses on relationships and results: cultivating donors and partners, supporting community projects, engaging local leaders, and promoting GMACF’s mission throughout the area. The position includes regular office hours in downtown Milan, periodic time in CFMC’s Monroe office, and evening community meetings as needed.
Compensation: $37,000–$42,000 annually (¾ salaried position), commensurate with experience.
