Monroe Puente Translation Services Project: Bridging Language Gaps for a Stronger Community

We are excited to highlight the ongoing success of Monroe Puente and their vital translation services project, which was supported through a CREED grant. This initiative addresses the urgent need for accurate, culturally sensitive language assistance in our community.

The project’s mission is to bridge the language gap between English and the second most commonly spoken language in Monroe, ensuring that individuals with limited English proficiency can access essential services such as healthcare, education, legal support, and social services. The individuals served by this project often face significant barriers due to their limited English skills and are living at or below 185% of the federal poverty level, underscoring the importance of this project in supporting a vulnerable population.

Since its inception, the Monroe Puente translation services project has made a profound impact by:

  • Assisting numerous individuals from underrepresented communities.
  • Providing hundreds of hours of translation services to ensure access to crucial resources.

These efforts have empowered individuals with limited English proficiency, allowing them to navigate vital systems and support networks. Together, we are helping build a more inclusive and supportive community for all.
